Grandparents Day — A Celebration That Touched Every Heart
We celebrated Grandparents Day on February 20, 2026. The event brought students and their grandparents together on campus — a deliberate effort by the school to honour the bond between children and the older generation that shapes them at home.
For many families, it was the first time grandparents stepped into the school their grandchildren attend every day. That simple act, walking through the same gates, sitting in the same spaces — carried more meaning than any formal programme could plan for. Students took pride in showing their grandparents the place where they spend so many of their hours. The performances went both ways — children for their grandparents, grandparents for their grandchildren. Nobody held back.
The school’s management, principal, teaching staff, and support team worked together to make the occasion worthwhile for every family present. Their effort was not lost on the guests. Grandparents left feeling genuinely welcomed — and that made all the difference.
A Grandparent’s Words
Shree S.K. Bhatnagar, a grandparent who attended the event, sent written feedback to the school the following day. At 69, he shared that neither a school nor a college had ever honoured grandparents in the way NPS did on that day. The respect and recognition shown to him stayed with him deeply, something he said he would not forget.
He thanked the management, staff, and teachers with sincerity, and expressed his hope that the school continues to organise programmes of this kind. His words were simple and direct, and they said everything.
Grandparents carry a kind of love that is patient, unconditional, and unhurried. When a school creates space for that love to show up, on campus, in person, it sends a clear message to students: the people who came before you matter here too. The school thanks every grandparent who attended, and every family who made the journey. Your presence made the day what it was.
